Most
CastleRox puppies are sold as "pets", not as breeding or show dogs.
This is because I prefer for my puppies to go to loving pet homes where
I know they will be treasured as family companions. All of my breeding
dogs are registered in at least one breed registry. Many are registered
in multiple registries. I have AKC, UKC, APRI, APR, WDR, CKC and
ACA registered dogs. Since most pet buyers never register their dogs
anyway (since they are not breeding or showing), I sometimes sell my puppies
without registration papers. This helps me keep the cost of my puppies
down and it allows buyers to use those "extra" funds for shipping
expenses, toys, dog food or for the next round of puppy vaccinations!
Registered puppies will be CLEARLY identified as such. If you are
in doubt as to whether the puppy you are interested in purchasing is registered,
or if you have questions regarding which registry association your chosen puppy
will be registered with, please
ASK!
While
I do not always require that buyers spay or neuter their pets, I highly
recommend that owners have these procedures performed by the time their
dog is 1 year of age. Spaying and neutering is obviously
the most effective way of preventing unwanted puppies AND it can help prevent
several health risks that might otherwise threaten your dog later in life.
Altering your dog can also help eliminate or prevent undesirable behaviors
such as house-training issues, dominance and aggression problems, digging
and/or climbing out of your yard.
CastleRox
Kennel will accept a NON-REFUNDABLE "hold" payment to reserve your chosen
puppy until it is 8 weeks of age and ready to go to its new home.
(Hold/reservation payments will be applied to the puppy's purchase price
at time of final payment.)
-
Reservation
payments may be placed on upcoming/planned litters or litters that are
already born.
-
Placing
a hold payment before an upcoming litter is born will qualify buyer for
a $25-$100 discount on their chosen puppy!
Submitting
a hold/reservation payment or payment in full to CastleRox Kennel constitutes
a binding purchase agreement for buyer's chosen/specified puppy.
-
All payments
are non-transferrable.
-
Payments
may NOT be applied to the purchase of any other puppy/dog without Breeder/Seller's
agreement.
-
In the
event a Buyer's chosen or specified puppy should not be available from
a particular litter or at the desired time (due to illness/defect, death
or Buyer's requirements for sex, color, etc. not being met), hold or purchase
payments will be applied to another puppy within the same litter (if one
is available) OR to the next available litter with, or expected to contain,
a puppy of equal or greater value with the Buyer's desired characteristics.
NO REFUNDs will be given for any of the circumstances described above!
-
Hold payments
are applied in the order they are received - first payment received guarantees
first pick of the available puppies matching Buyer's specifications - breed,
sex, color, size, etc.
-
Hold payments
are half of the price of the chosen puppy (maximum of $200) and these funds
are NON-REFUNDABLE! (At SELLER's discretion, a refund or credit
may be issued for hardship cases.)
-
Examples
of circumstances in which a hold payment would be forfeited include, but
are not limited to:
-
Buyer
places a hold payment for a puppy and changes his/her mind about purchasing
said puppy.
-
Buyer
does not pick-up chosen puppy as agreed (generally at 8 weeks of age).
-

does not forward the balance of their chosen puppy's purchase price
and/or other expenses due (such as shipping charges) by the time the chosen

before puppy is to be picked up (up to 14 days).

agreed, final payment does not clear bank or is not received, etc.), the
following shall apply:
-
Shipping
or other expenses that have already been paid by Seller shall be forfeited
by Buyer.
-
Travel
expenses for veterinary care, obtaining health certificate or any other
transport of Buyer's chosen puppy may be assessed by Breeder/Seller and

Seller's additional expenses for finding a new Buyer for a previously purchased
puppy, Breeder/Seller may assess and retain "board and care" charges for
care beyond the agreed upon delivery/pick-up date of Buyer's chosen puppy
(generally considered to be the date the puppy is 8 weeks old).
-
Board
and care fees shall be for a maximum of 2 weeks board, grooming, advertising
and veterinary/medical expenses.

-
